Funeral services were held Saturday, April 27, at the Glenwood Lutheran Church for Arthur N. Moen, 59, of R6, Decorah who died April 24 in Rochester, Minn. Mr. Moen had been employed at Luther College.
The Rev. Olaf O. Brandt conducted final rites. Burial was in the Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers; DuWayne Rude, Roger Pladsen, Orlando Moen, Curtis Lippe, Richard Brown and Harlan Moen. Carrie Kvamme accompanied the soloist Austin Moen at the organ. Steine Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Arthur N. Moen was born April 21, 1915 in Allamakee County to Julius and Caroline Moen. He attended rural schools in the area and married Marian Ruffridge April 5, 1941 in Waukon. The Moens lived in Allamakee County moving to Winneshiek County nine years ago.
He was a member of the Glenwood Lutheran Church.
Preceding him in death was a son, Dale Arthur who died in 1942; his parents, and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Marian; four children, Ronald Moen of Decorah, Earnest Moen of Decorah, Mrs. Edward (Jeanette) Bohr, Ossian and Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth Ann) Haugen of Dubuque; one brother, Carl Moen of Waukon; four sisters, Mrs. Howard Snitker, Waukon, Mrs. Herman Lippe, Waukon, Mrs. Robert Baumgartner, Dorchester and Mrs. Guy Brown of Hanover, Ill. and 13 grandchildren.
