Services for Vernon Haugen, 57, of Davenport, formerly of Decorah, were held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Davenport on Monday, May 24. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park.
Mr. Haugen died Friday, May 21 at Mercy Hospital in Davenport.
He was employed as a maintenance welder for 25 years at Oscar Mayer Co. in Davenport. He was a Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Haugen was married to Edith Paulson in 1952.
Survivors include his wife, Edith; daughters, Mrs. Ellis (Sally) Posten Jr. of Muscatine, Mrs. Tom (Connie) Franklin and Mary Haugen of Davenport and Mrs. Jack (Joan) Wail of Burlington; sons, David of Des Moines, Alan, US Navy, and Jerry and Rick of Davenport; eight grandchildren; his mother, Eloise Seiler, Yuma, Ariz. and brothers, Derwin Haugen, Yuma, Ariz., Raymond Seiler, Decorah, Hartley Laterman, Waterloo, Leslie Laterman, Postville and a sister, Mrs. Vernon (Mildred) Hermanson, Taylors Falls, Minn.
