Mabel G. Erickson, 77, of Decorah, died July 25 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital in Decorah.

Services were held Monday, July 28, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, with burial following at the Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor Paul H. Christenson conducted the services. Lois Christenson was organist. Fjelstul Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Bernell Dehning, Curtis Gremm, Walter Hovey, Howard Sande, Virgil Stortz and Gerald Young.

Mabel Thompson was born April 4, 1909 in Decorah, the daughter of Thomas and Tilla (Schoo) Thompson. She attended Decorah Senior High School and married Lester Erickson Sr. on April 6, 1939, at Osage, Iowa. She had lived in Winneshiek County all her life and was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband Lester; two children, Lester Erickson Jr. of Decorah and Thomas Erickson of Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Luella Stortz of Decorah.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
