A Glenwood township homemaker, Mrs. Howard Rude, 53, died August 17 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital. She had lived her entire life in this area.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 19, 1978 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran church where she was a member. Pastor Glen L. Borreson officiated and organist was Mrs. William Kuhlman. Serving as pallbearers were Ronald Moen, Norman Moen Jr., Ronald Rude, Harlan Nesset, Orlando Moen and Larry Mestad. Steine's Funeral Home was in charge. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery.

Irene M. Ruffridge was born January 16, 1925 in Winneshiek County to Walter and Judith Ruffridge of Decorah. She was educated in rural schools. On October 19, 1945 she was united in marriage with Howard Rude at St. John's parsonage.

She is survived by her father, Walter Ruffridge; her husband; one son, Duwayne Rude, Decorah; one brother, Galen Ruffridge, Decorah; one sister, Marion Moen, Decorah; and one grandchild.

Preceding her in death were her mother, one brother, and two sisters, and a son Gary who died in 1966
