David M. Roher, 49, of Pheonix, Ariz., formerly of Decorah and Cedar Rapids, died of leukemia, Aug. 22, 1991, at St Joseph's Medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gary F. Krapfl officiating. Organist was Alan Sensor and soloist was Joan Schissel, who sang "On Eagles Wings."
Fjelstud Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements, and burial was at St. Benedict's Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Duane Barth, Glen Barth, Alan Erickson, Harlan Erickson, Norman Hjelmeland and Dale Lundy.
David Roher was born Nov. 20, 1941, in Decorah. He attended Decorah High School and graduated from Kirkwood College.
He married Julie Spalding of Cedar Rapids, Aug. 5, 1961, at St. Benedict's Catholic Church. He was a self-employed contractor and lived in the Cedar Rapids area from 1964 to 1990 when he moved to Phoenix. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Julie; his mother, Leona B. (Erickson) Roher of Decorah; four children, Christopher Roher of Canyon Country, Calif., Lori Ann Roher of Ames, Daniel Roher of Cedar Rapids, and Andrea Parmenter of Anamosa; three grandchildren; two brothers, Dale R. Roher of Decorah and Richard Roher of Kewaskum, Wis.; and a sister, Maxine Bergan of Cresco.
Preceding him in death was his son, Anthony M. Roher, Dec. 25, 1967.
