Mrs. H. O. Woldum passed away at 10.30 a m Friday, July 26, 1929, at her home on East South Avenue in this city. Old age was the cause of her death. Mrs. Woldum broke her hip more than ten years ago and had been failing since. She was confined to her bed the last five years or more of her life. She was 91 years old when she passed away.
Ranvai Gram was born January 7, 1838, in Norway and was the daughter of Mons and Christi Gram. On April 8, 1865, in Norway she was united in marriage with Halvor O. Woldum. To this union seven children were born. In the year 1885 Mr. and Mrs. Woldum and family came to the United States and to Glenwood township in Winneshiek county, Iowa, where they resided until 1909, since which time they have been residents of Decorah. Mrs. Woldum was a member of the F N E L church of this city. Her parents, sisters and brothers and her oldest son preceded her in death.
Mrs. Woldum is survived by her husband, 89 years of age, six children, (Marie) Mrs. Fred Sanden of Seattle, Washington, (Christie) Mrs. Haaken Nesset of Glenwood township, Nels Woldum of Strathmore, Alberta, Canada, Martin, John, and Halvor Woldum of Decorah, 23 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The sympathy of numerous friends is extended to the bereaved family in this hour of sorrow.
