Halvor Woldum, 91, dies at son's home

Had been active farmer for 47 years-Six children survive Halvor Woldum almost 92 years old, a progressive farmer in Glenwood township in Winneshiek County for more than 40 years died at the home of his son, John Woldum, 509 Decorah Ave at 12:30 a m Friday, April 9.

Mr. Woldum had been in excellent health until a few weeks ago, although he had retired from active farming life many years ago and had lived here for 15 years.

Mr. Woldum was preceded in death by his wife about three years ago. Mrs. Woldum lived to be more than 90 years old. Coming to Winneshiek County in 1885 from Norway, the Woldums made this county their home for the rest of their lives. One son, Ole, died three years ago.

Funeral services were held for Mr. Woldum Monday afternoon at the First Lutheran church. Rev T. A. Hoff officiating.

Mr. Woldum is survived by six children to whom the sympathies of the community are extended in the loss of an outstandingly progressive father. The children are : Mrs. Fred Sanden of Seattle, Mrs. H. O. Nessett, Glenwood township; Martin Woldum, Decorah; Nels Woldum, Strathmore, Alta, and John and Halvor H. Woldum of Decorah.
