Beatrice E. “Bea” Strinmoen, age 89, of Superior, WI and formerly of Decorah, IA, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at St. Francis in the Park Health & Rehabilitation Center in Superior, WI.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah with Rev. Chad Huebner officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah in the spring.

Visitation will be on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 A.M., one hour before the service, at Fjelstul Funeral Home.

Beatrice Ethel (Erb) Strinmoen was born on March 27, 1924 in Ryder, North Dakota, the daughter of Eugene and Ethel (Hungate) Erb. She graduated from Ryder High School with the class of 1942.

Bea was united in marriage to Norman H. Strinmoen on April 7, 1946 at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Ryder, North Dakota. This union was blessed with three children: Keith, Sandra and Nancy.

Bea worked at Strinmoen Brothers Grocery Store in Decorah and then went to work at Decorah State Bank, where she was employed for over 25 years. She started in bookkeeping and then worked her way up to Trust Officer and Personnel Director. She was involved in the hiring of many people.

Bea was an avid reader, loved to sew, was a caregiver and very giving person, liked to walk, loved to travel, and she loved being involved with her family. She was a long time member of First Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School, was active in Circle, Bible Study, counting money and had served on the church council. Bea was also a member and very active in the American Legion Auxiliary and National Bank Women. In 2008 she moved up to Superior, Wisconsin to be closer to her daughter Nancy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Norman on May 30, 1962; one sister, Estella Erb; and by three brothers: Bernard (Ina) Erb, Harold Erb and LeRoy Erb.

Bea is survived by her three children: Keith (Jane) Strinmoen of Danville, IL, Sandra Wilson of Robertsdale, AL and Nancy (Randy) Thiede of Superior, WI; six grandchildren: Heather Chalfant, Heidi (Jason) Schultz, Mark Wilson, Joshua Wilson, Mitchell (Shanna) Thiede and Meaghan (Benjamin) Sorensen; nine great-grandchildren; one brother David (Sharon) Erb of Tempe, AZ; and three sisters-in-law: Charlotte Strinmoen of Decorah, IA, Verna Halverson of Waukee, and Twyla Erb of Minneapolis, MN.

The family would like to thank the St. Francis in the Park Health & Rehabilitation Center in Superior and their whole staff for the excellent care given to Bea over the last six years.
