Jeffery Lane Teslow, 47, of Ossian, Iowa, formerly of Decorah, Iowa, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota. Jeff was born on November 25, 1966, in Decorah, Iowa, to Nathan and Ruby (Hesse) Teslow. He graduated from Decorah High School with the class of 1986.

Jeff was united in marriage to Brenda Lansing on April 28, 2001, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, Iowa. Jeff worked as a custodian at Decorah Middle School and at Glenwood Lutheran Church, Decorah, Iowa, for many years. He enjoyed tinkering with things, gardening, working on his computer and landscaping with his wife. He will be greatly missed by the many people who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Teslow, Ossian; his mother, Ruby Teslow, Decorah; one brother, Bernard (Janet) Teslow, Decorah; one sister, Sherri Teslow, Decorah; his father-in-law, Richard Lansing, Ossian; his in-laws, Joyce (Philip) Waters, Hudson, Sandra (Alan) Lamborn, Nashua, Glen (Angie) Lansing, Postville; several nieces and nephews; a host of many other family and friends and his dog, Casey.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Teslow in 1993 and his mother-in-law, Madelyn Lansing in 2013.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 3-8 pm at Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Ossian, Iowa and one hour before services at the church on Friday.

Funeral Services will be at 11 am on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Glenwood Lutheran Church in Decorah, Iowa with Rev. Stacey Nalean-Carlson as the Officiant.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Ossian, Iowa is helping the family with the arrangements.
