Michael (Spider) William Webb, 69, of Rochester, Minn., passed away Oct. 27, 2013, at home. To celebrate Mike's life and share stories of his quick wit, outrageous one-liners, and wonderful sense of humor, please join his family and friends. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Wed., Oct. 30, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home. A Memorial mass is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1315 12th Ave NW, with military honors and lunch to follow. Private family burial is at Calvary Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 6, 1944, in Decorah, to Ronald and Ruth (O'Brien) Webb. Mike served in the United States Army, and then became employed with IBM where he worked in quality control until his retirement 42 years later. He married Susan O'Brien Aug. 12, 1977, in Onalaska, Wis. He was always active, whether biking, running, walking, playing cards or his favorite pastime, golfing. He forgot more jokes than we'll ever know, and he could tell a limerick with the best of them. He never forgot to make those around him feel like they were the best friend he ever had. To know him was a blessing.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; his son, Matthew Webb (Terra) of Lakeville, Minn. and his daughter, Jennifer Severson (Timothy) of Hayfield, Minn.; two grandchildren, Emily and Kaitlyn; and two brothers, Steve (Deborah) Webb of Byron and Tom (Diane) Webb of Pine Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
