Sharon Joyce Vikre Woolsey, 73, a resident of San Marcos, Texas, passed away Oct. 24, 2013. Funeral services are Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Burial follows at San Marcos City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen of Austin Breast Cancer Research. She was born Sept. 7, 1940, in Decorah, to Walter and Gladys (Neste) Vikre. Upon graduation from high school in Decorah, Sharon took some college courses and became a medical transcriber. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a devoted member of the San Marcos Community Church and was active in many of the church's functions.

She is survived by her son, John Woosley and his wife, Melinda of Austin; son, Scott Woosley and his wife, Candy of San Marcos; daughter Bonita Black and her husband, Henry, of Rockford, Ill.; and her brother, Arden Vikre of San Marcos. Sharon also is survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a loving extended family.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Kevin Woosley.
