FREDERICKSBURG - Memorial services for Raymond E. Anderson of Fredericksburg, Iowa were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg with Pastor Ronnie Koch officiating. Private family interment will take place at a later date at the Orleans Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ridgeway.

Friends greeted the family 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 at the Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Visitation continued an hour prior to the service at the church.

Raymond, 84, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at his home.

Raymond Edward Anderson was born Aug. 14, 1929, on the family farm near Ridgeway, Iowa, the son of Herbert and Lena Anderson. He received his education in rural country school and the Ridgeway High School.

On Jan. 25, 1951, he married Margaret "Peggy" Stockdale in Cresco. To this union seven children were born. Together the couple farmed north of Ridgeway until 1971. Ray then drove semi for Meinerts Creamery/Beatrice Cheese in Fredericksburg until retiring in 1993. In his retired years, Ray helped with the spring and fall farm work for Gene and Rex Nolte. He will be remembered for his love of life and the enjoyment he received from his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife: Peggy; his children: Joan (Alan) Peter of Cresco, Anon (Susie) Anderson, Susan (Bob) Flansche, Mary (John) Woodring, Karen (Tom) Lienau, all of Fredericksburg, Wanda Anderson of Chandler, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister: Alice Anderson of Des Moines; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Lady, his dog.

He was preceded in death by one son: Alan Anderson; his parents; his brother: Gerald Anderson; and two sisters: Irene Hove and Emma Anderson.
