Decorah, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. W.O. Thornton, 67, will be held here Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist Church with the Rev. F.H. Weed, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Phelps Cemetery. Mrs. Thornton, taken seriously ill Tuesday, was taken to the hospital where she submitted to an operation. Her death occurred Wednesday.

She was the former Jane Gordanier and was born near Luana on Nov. 30, 1875, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Gordenier. She married Mr. Thornton March 29, 1893 and the family lived in Decorah the past 22 years.

Surviving are her husband; eight children, Mrs. Andrew Kessel, Mrs. E.L. Holt, Mrs. Earl White, Roy, and Andrew, all of Decorah; Mrs. John Amundson of Fairfield, Mont., Richard of Chicago, and Mrs. Dora Ritenour of Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Rickards of Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Iola Leek of Waukon, Mrs. Cecil Uhl and Horace Gordanier, both of Postville; and Lynn of Kalamazoo, Mich.
