Amanda Sensor services held
Funeral services for Amanda Sensor of Decorah were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 3 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Decorah with Rev. Gary Krapfl officiating. Interment was in St. Benedict's Catholic Cemetery in Decorah. Pallbearers were: Jim Juve, Norbert Bohr, John Lensch, Edward Roed, David Lensch, Wayne Huinker, Ronald Numedahl, and Orland Brunsvold. Schluter-Balik Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Amanda, 97, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at the Oneota Riverview Care Facility following a short illness.
Amanda Marie Sensor was born August 9, 1906 in rural Decorah, the daughter of Alphonso and Adena (Stoskopf) Thomann. She attended the Hamre School in rural Decorah.
On April 14, 1937 she married Richard Sensor at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Decorah. They farmed south of Decorah and operated Sensor's Mobil Milling. She also cooked for years at her son's restaurant and at St. Benedict's Rectory.
She is survived by one daughter: Diane Homewood of Waterloo; and one son: Alan Sensor of Decorah.
Amanda was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 1971; her parents; and one brother: Raymond.
