Postville Herald, Thursday, 26 October 1922.
Another good citizen has fallen in the person of Albert Shirley Harvey, born March 31, 1875, on a farm northeast of Castalia, where he lived until ten years of age, when he moved to town, and died at his home in Castalia, October 23, 1922, at 11:30 a.m., being 47 years, six months and 23 days old.
On June 8, 1897, he was united in marriage to Ella C. Cook, and to this union one child was born which died in infancy.
Mr. Harvey has stood out as one of our well respected citizens, an honest, upright gentleman, a kind husband and a good neighbor, taking an active part in the community interests, being one of the firemen, a member of the Castalia band and a member of the Community Club.
About two months ago he was taken ill, but his condition apparently was not serious, until three weeks ago. Death was due to cancer of the liver. The best care was given, but it seemed that nothing could be done. He was preceded in death just one week by his brother.
Mr. Harvey leaves to mourn his departure a wife, Ella C. Harvey; three sisters- Mrs. Abe Banning of Mott, N.D.; Mrs. O. B. Moore of Luana; and Mrs. O. S. Bush of Hinton, Wis.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 25th, at the Castalia United Brethren church at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. A. L. Brandstetter. Interment in Pleasant View cemetery.
