Dennis C. Harvey was born April 25, 1860, near Castalia, Iowa, and died Oct. 16, 1922, at 7 o'clock a.m. in his home at Castalia, being 62 years, five months and 22 days old.

In the fall of 1885 he was united in marriage to Lucy J. Cook, who passed on July 1, 1910. On Oct. 20, 1920, he was again united in marriage to Mrs. Mary Hollenbach.

Most of his life has been spent on his farm three and a half miles northeast of town, until twelve years ago he moved to Castalia, where with his brother he had charge of the garage until four years ago.

Mr. Harvey has been a good neighbor, an honest, well respected citizen; a member of the United Brethren church; also a member of the A.O.U.W.

During the past year he has been in rather poor health, yet not seriously ill. Saturday morning, Oct. 14th, he was stricken with a hemorrhage from which no relief could be secured.

He leaves to mourn, a wife; three sisters- Mrs. Banning of Mott, N.D.; Mrs. Moore, Luana; and Mrs. Bush of Hinton, Wis.; one brother, Albert Shirley Harvey, of Castalia; four stepchildren- Mrs. Livingston of Cresco; Mrs. Moore, Spring Valley, Minn.; Alvin Hollenbach, Chatfield, Minn.; Ora Hollenbach, Fountain, Minn,; and many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held in the United Brethren church in Castalia on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Rev. A. L. Branstetter. Interment in Pleasant View cemetery.
