HANS HANSON LOKKEBO DIES AT HIS HOME IN THIS CITY
Hans Hanson Lokkebo passed away at eight o'clock Monday morning, November 26, 1928, at his home at 502 Oak street in this city. He suffered a stroke of paralysis a week ago Sunday, November 18th, which was the cause of his death. Mr. Lokkebo had an accident and broke his hip five years ago, and had since been an invalid. He had been blind the past two years. The funeral will take place at one o'clock at the home Thursday afternoon, November 29, and two o'clock at the Canoe Hauge Church. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. O. Glesne will officiate at the house and Rev. Carl Losen at the church and the grave.
Hans Hanson Lokkebo was born September 1,1847 in Bergan, Norway, and was the son of Lars and Anna Lokkebo. In 1872 at Bergan, Norway, he united in marriage with Nellie Oren, who preceded him in death. Seven children were born to this union. Mr. Lokkebo married again in 1888 at Bergan to Kathrine Langedal, who survives him. Six children were born to this union, three of whom preceded him in death here, namely, Johanna and Edwin, who passed away in infancy, and Inga, who passed away ten years ago.
Besides his aged wife, the deceased is survived by the following children: Mrs. Anna Hotvedt of Glenwood township; Carl, Ed and Lou Hanson of Sumas, Wash.; (Ellen) Mrs. L. Tobiason of Everett, Wash., (Hilda) Mrs Ole Flatland of Glenwood township; Sam Hanson of Hesper twp., Mrs. Nellie Severson and John Hanson of Decorah and (Hannah) Mrs. Philip Hovey of Cresco, Iowa. All the children, except those residing in Washington, were at their father's bedside when he passed away.
Mr. Lokkebo came to this country and to Winneshiek county in the year 1892, and had since been a resident here. His wife and family came a year later and joined him here. He and his family moved from Canoe township to Decorah and into the house where he passed away, nine years ago. He was a member of the Canoe Hauge church. The sympathy of numerous friends is extended to the family in their hour of sorrow.

The funeral will be held on Thursday at the Hauge Lutheran church at Canoe. Rev. O. Glesne and Rev. Carl Losen will officiate and burial will be made in the Hauge cemetery.
The deceased was born September 1, 1847, in Bergen, Norway. He was a son of Lars and Amanda Lokkebo. In 1872 he was united in marriage to Nellie Oren, who passed away some years later. To this union the following children were born - Anne, Ellen, Hilda, Lars, Elias, Carl and Solomon. In 1888 he was married to Katherine Langedahl, in Norway. To this union were born six children, Nellie, Inga, Johanna, John, Edwin and Hannah.
In 1892 he came to this country with his family, settling in Canoe township, where he farmed until 1920. The family then moved to Decorah,which has since been their home.
Besides his wife, the deceased is survived by the following children: Mrs. Ellen Tobiason of Everett, Wash., Lars of Alaska, Carl and Ed. of Sumas, Wash., Mrs. Hannah Hovey of Cresco, and Mrs. Anne Hotvedt, Solomon, John, Mrs. Hilda Flatland and Mrs. Nellie Severson of Decorah. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters.

Hans L. Lykeby, beloved father of Mrs. Henry Severson, of this city passed away Monday at his home on Oak street. His death was due to appolexy. The deceased was 81 years of age and was born in Norway, Sept. 1, 1847. He was a farmer here for many years, retiring some time ago, the family coming to Decorah to reside. He was a man held in high esteem by all his neighbors and friends and much sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones in their loss.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow, Thursday and interment will be in the Hauge cemetery.
