Henry Hanson Dies in Montana

Decorah relatives and friends received the sad news Monday morning of the death of Henry Hanson, on his farm near Denton, Mont., where he had lived for the past eight years. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Hanson of this city, and was born in Decorah about 50 years ago, and lived here until young manhood. He was one of the original members of the old Decorah Drum Corps, and was with that organization at the time they won the championship of the world at Chicago. Besides his parents, Mr. Hanson leaves a wife and four children, who live on the farm home in Montana, and two sisters, Mrs. W.B. Coup and Mrs. W.H. Holmes and one brother, Louis Hanson, all of this city. We are without particulars as to his illness and burial will be in Denton.

Henry Hanson Crosses The Great Divide

Henry Hanson, a Montana pioneer, passed away at his ranch in Bear Spring country on Sunday, January 6th. of heart failure, at the age of about 54 years.

Mr. Hanson had been to Lewistown to transact some business matters, returning Thursday apparently in the best of health. He went home with Fred Peterson, and said that there would be a change in the weather as his rheumatism was bothering him. On arriving at his home Mr. Hanson's condition changed for the worse, and on Sunday he passed peacefully away.

Mr. Hanson came to Montana a number of years ago. About eight years ago he settled on a homestead not far from the famous Bear Spring, after which the bench was named, and where he has since resided. The remains were interred in the Bear Spring cemetery on Wednesday afternoon, but the spirit of Henry Hanson has long since taken its flight into that "undiscovered country, from whose bourne no traveler returns.

A wife and four young children are left to mourn the loss of a husband and father. The sympathy of the many friends and neighbors is extended to the bereaved ones in their sorrow.
