Services Held for Christine Wood in Charles City Church

Funeral services for Christine Wood, 81, former Winneshiek county resident, were held at Charles City, June 11. Rev. Walter M. Fritschel, pastor of the St. John's Lutheran church officiated and burial was at Charles City.

The deceased was born in Hardanger, Norway, December 7, 1872, daughter of John and Sarah Thordahl Foss. In infancy she came to this country with her parents, seven brothers and sisters. She spent her childhood on the family farm east of Decorah, later moving to Decorah where she lived for many years.

For the past 30 years, she has been a resident of Charles City.

Mrs. Wood was baptized in Norway and confirmed in the Glenwood Lutheran church near Decorah. She was married to Ezra Anthony Wood, who preceded her in death. One daughter Ruth was born to this union.

Six sisters and three brothers preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter and one brother John T. Foss of St. Paul, Minn
