Postville Herald, Friday, 13 December 1918. In the Frankville column.

On Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chris Waters in Frankville, Mrs. Jas. McNair passed away after a short illness from pneumonia following an attack of influenza. Mrs. McNair was one of the early settlers of Frankville. Her maiden name was Emily Augusta Pagin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Pagin, and with them came to this country in 1854. She was born on January 21, 1844, in (name blurred)City, Indiana, and was married Dec. 14, 1869, to Jas. M. McNair. Three children were born to them- Herbert D. and Louis C. and their father are dead, leaving Mrs. Waters as the only surviving member of the family. She is also survived by one brother, Dr. C. J. Pagin, and two grandchildren, Gail and Edwin McNair. Brief services were held at the Frankville cemetery at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev. A. R. Grant of Decorah officiating. Mrs. McNair was a kind-hearted neighbor and a devoted wife and mother, who will be missed by many friends.
