Death Benedick Anderson

Benedick Anderson, a well known pioneer Pleasant township farmer passed away Monday night, May 13, at 10:20 o'clock. He had been in failing health for the past four years, and for three weeks previous to his death had been confined to his bed. He was 63 years, 1 month and 16 days of age when death claimed him.

The deceased was born in Norway on March 28, 1866. He came to America and to Winneshiek county in 1879, when he was thirteen years of age.

He was married to Inez Clausen on April 20, 1895, who with a family of nine children survive him. The children are Mayme, (Mrs. Cleveland Ames), Ferryville, Wis.; Anna, (Mrs. Maurice Sampson), Canoe Twp.; Bertha, (Mrs. Alvaric Musser), of Mitchell county; Stella, (Mrs. Fred Borne), Tripoli, Iowa; Arthur, Summer, Iowa; Julius, Decorah; Theodore at home; Esther at Waverly and Luverne at home.

His mother, Mrs. Anna Anderson, of Pleasant township and four brothers and one sister also survive. They are Lars, Martin and Joe Anderson of Pleasant township, Samuel of La Crosse, Wis. and Mrs. John Stoskopf, of Pleasant township. Twelve grandchildren also survive.

The deceased was a man held in high esteem by many friends. He was a good husband and father, and his passing brings much sorrow, and the sympathy of many friends is extended to the bereaved ones in their loss. The funeral services were held yesterday, Wednesday, May 15, at one o'clock from the home and 2:30 from the Big Canoe church. Rev. Tolo officiated
