The community was shocked to learn of the death of Miss Mary Uhley at Decorah Monday evening from influenza. She had taught in the Decorah Public School for twenty-two years, and when the schools were closed last week she remained to help take care of the sick at Ray Alyger's where she made her home. Though slightly ill since Saturday, on Monday afternoon she grew worse rapidly and passed away at seven o'clock. She leaves a father, one sister, Alma, who live here, and one brother, Will, at Failbury, Neb. The body was brought from Decorah Tuesday afternoon and laid to rest in Pleasant View cemetery.
