Died In Colorado

Edgar Erickson was born Dec. 9, 1881, in Canoe township, Winneshiek County, Iowa, and died in the city of Denver, very suddenly without a moments warning, at 6:50 Tuesday morning, while on his way to work June 26, 1906, at the age of 24 years, 6 month and 5 days. The immediate cause of his death was hemorhage.

Edgar was brought up in the Lutheran church and ever lived a Christian life.

He always lived near Decorah until a year ago last April when he was married to Miss Caroline Crane and they moved to Denver to make their future home, where he was engaged in different occupations.

Edgar Erickson was a true and industrious young man, of good habits, kind and loving disposition. He leaves to mourn his untimely death, a loving wife, a mother and father, six brothers, two sisters and many relatives and friends.

All of the family were present at the funeral except a sister, Mrs. Ingrie Hegtvedt, who lives at Roosevelt, Minn. A brother and sister preceded him to the Spirit World.

This, our great and painful loss is Heaven's enternal gain. He has gone to join the angels and may God in great and tender mercy comfort and bind our broken hearts, and grant us a happy reunion in that heavenly place where pain, parting and sorrow is unknown.

The remains were brought to Decorah on Thursday evening accompanied by his wife.

The funeral was held on Friday at the Big Canoe church, Rev. A Seehuus conducting the funeral services. A large number of sorrowing relatives and friends gathered at the church to pay their last respects to the deceased. Many beautiful flowers lay on the casket.

We lay thee in thy silent tomb,
Sweet blossoms of a day,
We just begin to view thy bloom
When thou wer't called away.

Friendship and love have done their last
And now can do no more.
The bitterness of death has past
And all thy suffering o'er.

Thou minglest now in that bright throng
Around th' eternal throne,
And join'st the everlasting song,
With those before have gone.
