Iowa Volksblatt of 26 October 1893, and re-printed in the Postville 25 Years Ago column of the Postville Herald, Friday, 25 October 1918.
On last Friday the town marshal was called to the John Dresser farm, just west of here, where the body of a man was found lying in a buggy. After the investigation it was learned that the dead man was A. Guenther of Decorah, who leaves a wife and 10 children. An empty bottle which had contained Strychnine led the coroner's jury to turn in a verdict of suicide. A family quarrel the day before is supposed to have led to this tragedy.
