Ingvald A. Myrah

Ingvald A. Myrah of Decorah died Monday, Nov. 3, at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital at the age of 90.

Mr. Myrah had farmed in Canoe Township until 1938, then moved to Chicago where he was a machinist until he retired. He moved back to Decorah in 1969.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. Milo Lee and the Rev. Glenn Borreson officiated. Pallbearers were Dale Johnson, Goerge Knoke, Milford Nelson, Donald E. Johnson, Russell Nelson and Arthur E. Johnson. Florence Jowers was organist and H.O. Christen was soloist. Arrangements were made by Sensor-French Funeral Home.

Ingvald Adolph Myrah was born March 24, 1897 in Canoe Township to Andrew and Caroline (Erickson) Myrah. He attended rural schools in Winneshiek County. He served in the army in World War I.

Mr. Myrah married Gurina Lukken on Nov. 20, 1919 and the couple had one son. He is survived by his son, Truman, who lives at North Lake, Ill.; two grandchildren; a brother, Carl Myrah of Decorah; and a sister, Ida Boe of Silverton, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife who died Dec. 19, 1978; two brothers, Julius and Clarence, and two sisters, Elsie Severson and Ida Amanda, who died in infancy.

Mr. Myrah was a member of First Lutheran Church.
