Carl Theodore Myrah

Carl Theodore Myrah, 92, of Decorah, died Tuesday, April 26, 1994, at the Aase Haugen Home, following a long illness.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at the French and Balik Funeral Home, with the Rev. Glenn Kappelmann officiating. Alan Sensor was the organist. Burial was at the Lutheran Cemetery. The French and Balik Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Carl Myrah was born April 12, 1902, in Decorah, the son of Andrew and Caroline (Erickson) Myrah. He was a Lutheran, baptized at Big Canoe Church and confirmed at First Lutheran Church. He attended country schools and graduated from Valders Business College in Decorah. He married Johanna Blegen Quandahl in 1952.

He farmed for three years and worked for L.C. Bolson for seven years. He operated the Decorah Feed Mill with Art Blegen and John Lillegraven for several years. He retired when he reached 64 years of age.

Survivors include one step-son, Julian Quandahl and his wife, Marilyn, of Westland, Mich.; three grandchilden and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Peter, Clarence and Ingvald; and three sisters, Elsie Severson, Ida Boe and Ida Amanda in infancy.
