Died Suddenly
Erick Evenson Lomen who resided three miles south of Decorah died very suddenly last Sunday at the Washington Prairie Church. He had attended the morning services and at the conculsion, he left the church and started for his rig but before reaching it, dropped in his tracks and expired almost immediately. Mr. Lomen was apparently in good health and although not as strong as usual on account of an attack of the grippe about New Years, it was not thought that death would come so quick. Mr. Lomen was born in Vestre Slidre Valders, Norway in 1828 and on last Saturday celebrated his 78th birthday. He came to America in 1848 and after a short residence in Wisconsin, came to Winneshiek County, where he resided until his death.
