Mrs. Erick E. Lomen passed away at her home three miles and a half southeast of Decorah Sunday morning at eleven o'clock, after an illness of about one year. For the past two weeks she had been confined to her bed. The deceased was born in Norway Feb. 20, 1832 and was 84 years and six months old when death claimed her. Her husband passed away ten years ago in April. Six children were born to the union, two sons having passed away, Henry 49 years ago and John six years ago. The surviving children are: Henry and Christina who live on the home place, Evan, Springfield Township, and Gustave, LeRoy, LeRoy, Minn.

The deceased was one of the highly esteemed women of this county and during her long life here numbered her friends by the score, and all will be bereaved to hear of her passing. The funeral services will be held at one o'clock from the home and two o'clock from the Washington Prairie Church. Rev. Paul Koren will officiate.
