Adolph Hotvedt, Glenwood Township farmer, dies Dec. 11
A Glenwood Township farmer, Adolph C. Hotvedt died Dec. 11 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital at the age of 71. He was a native of Winneshiek County and had farmed in Glenwood Township his entire life.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 14 at Glenwood Lutheran Church where he was a member. Pastor James K. Jensen officiated at the 1:30 service and Mrs. William Kuhlman was organist with hymns sung by the congregation.
Steine's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Orvin Hotvedt, Lester Sorenson, Clayton Engen, Spencer Hotvedt, Bill Rausch and Earl Thompson.
Adolph Hotvedt was born Nov. 20, 1907 in Glenwood Township to Ole and Anna Hotvedt. He was educated in rural schools. On Dec. 27, 1941 he was married to Mabel Ness in the Madison Lutheran Church parsonage. She survives with a son, Maynard Hotvedt of Decorah. Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Leonard Sorenson and Mrs. Mary Throndson, both of Decorah and Mrs. Helga Hotvedt of Minneapolis and five grandchildren.
His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
