Rites held for Daisy Moore

Funeral services for Daisy M. Moore, 77, of Decorah, were held Tuesday, May 1 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church Fellowship Room.

Mrs. Moore died Friday, April 27 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital.

The Rev. Paul H. Christenson conducted the services, with burial in Phelps Cemetery. Steine's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Lois Christenson was pianist.

Casket bearers were Harvey Baker, Trevor Baker, John Logsdon, Randy Logsdon, Michael Moore and Robert Walker Moore.

Daisy M. Moore was born Oct. 21, 1906 in Allamakee County to John and Mae (Moe) Logsdon. She was educated in the rural schools of Allamakee and Winneshiek counties and graduated from Decorah High School.

She married Robert W. Moore on Aug. 29, 1927. The couple farmed in Winneshiek County.

Mrs. Moore was the national secretary for the American Dexter Cattle Association for 32 years. from 1950 to 1982. She was regional director at the time of her death.

Survivors include three children, Robert Walker Moore of Seattle, Wash., Michael Moore of Buffalo City, Wis., and Kay Moore Baker of Rochester, Minn.; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy Logsdon of Decorah and Margaret Webster of Warren, Ohio.
