Postville Review, Fri., 24 Oct. 1913.
A few weeks ago Peter Kneeskern of Castalia was adjudged mentally unsound and sent to the State Hospital at Independence. About five days later he died and the body was shipped home for burial, the doctor's and undertaker's certificates designating the cause of death as "uremic poisoning", we understand. Undertaker J. M. Harris of this city was called to conduct the funeral and in arranging the body discovered evidence that led him to believe that deceased's neck was broken, and called the attention of others to it. However, the funeral was held and the body buried. Later steps were taken for an investigation as to the cause of death, and the first of this week the Iowa State Board of Control went to Castalia, the body was disinterred and Drs. Chas. H. Flynn of this city and R. P. Berry of Clermont after a thorough and critical examination decided death resulted from natural causes.
