Funeral Services For Mrs. Joseph Uebelher Were Held Saturday
Mrs Uebelher sucumbs to fifteen years illness at the home of her parents.
Mrs Joseph Uebelher passed away at the home of her parents Mr and Mrs Henry Scheidemantel at 7:30 Wednesday evening, January 15, 1941 following a lingering illness.
Victoria Scheidemantel was born Aug. 21, 1898 in Ossian, Iowa and grew to womanhood in the parental home. She was educated in Saint Francis School.
On the 5th day of February 1923, she was united in marriage with Joseph Uebelher, the event taking place in St. Francis Church, Ossian. Following her marriage, the young couple moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where June Marie, their only child was born.
Mrs Uebelher had been an invalid for the past fifteen years and since 1934 she has made her home with her parents 3 1/2 miles west of Ossian where she was tenderly cared for and given every aid and comfort possible. Mrs Uebelher was a kind and amiable woman and a trusted friend. She had scores of friends in Milwaukee and in this community who will cherish her memory for a long time to come. Besides her husband and daughter, she is survived by her parents and one sister, Mrs Carrie Timp, to whom the sympathy of all goes out.
Funeral services where held at 9:30 Saturday morning in St. Francis Church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. M.J. Thiltgin D.D. offering up the requiem mass. Burial was made in St. Francis Cemetery. The casket bearers were Edward Schissel, Ray Schissel, Jack Schissel, Paul Scheidemantel, Fred Scheidemantel, and Leo Scheidemantel, all of whom are cousins of the deceased.
Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral include the following: Mrs. Louis Uebelher, Milwaukee, Mr and Mrs Rudolph Scheidemantel, Cresco; Mrs and Mrs Fred Landt and Mr and Mrs Harry Landt, Luana; Joseph Scheidemantel, LaCrosse, Wisconsin; John Schissel and family, Jack Schissel and family, and Alf Schissel and family, Calmar; Joseph Lechtenberg and family, Festina; Mr and Mrs August Hageman, Decorah.
