Postville Review, Fri., 11 September 1914.

Libbie E. Lambert was born near Castalia, Iowa, Oct. 30, 1868, and died at the state hospital at Independence, Iowa, Sept. 3, 1914, at the age of 45 years, 10 months and 3 days.

Her childhood and girlhood days were spent on her father's farm near Castalia. At the age of 23, in 1893, she was married to Eugene J. Perry. For a short time they lived on a neighboring farm, then removed to another farm two miles distant which soon became their own and where they have since resided. There are left to mourn her loss the husband and one son, father, mother, three brothers and two sisters, one brother having preceded her in death. Her death followed a period of failing health for about a year, and throughout her long illness the husband has ministered to her every want and need. In the hope of benefitting her health last winter was spent in Long Beach, California, where she spent several months in a sanitarium without avail. Following the return from California other efforts to restore health were resorted to without effect. The life of the deceased speaks for itself. While never affiliating with any church she often expressed her faith in her God and in future life. It was her expressed desire to live a Christian life and be so prepared that when death came she might meet her loved ones gone before. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the M.E. church. Her life at home and among her friends was one of cheerfulness and sunshine.

The funeral services were held at the home of the father on Sept. 5th at two o'clock p.m., Rev. Elton D. Wells of Ossian officiating. Interment in Pleasant View cemetery.
