Denise Jostand, Decorah, Iowa, March 15, 2013

Denise Eileen Jostand, 62, of Decorah, Iowa formerly of Lansing, Iowa died Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

She was born on November 12, 1950 to James (Glen) and Mary (Finnegan) Connor in Mauston, Wisconsin. Denise was baptized in Mauston and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Parish in Lansing. She graduated high school from St. George Parochial School in 1969.

Denise was united in marriage with Jerome Jostand on July 29, 1972. She worked in customer service at Kwik Star and Casey’s, and was a member of the Elks Lodge in Decorah. Denise enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved music and musicals.

Denise is survived by her husband Jerome of Decorah; her four children, Jeremy (Janeen) Jostand of Decorah, Daniele Jostand of Decorah, Donita (Quinton) Bohlen of Decorah, and Jeff Harbaugh of Oelwein; eleven grandchildren, Ashley, Alexis, Devon, Austin, Logan, Jeremy Jr., Tristan, Jaina, Nolan, Myles and Jackie and her siblings, Jack (Deb) Connor of LaCrosse, Jim (Mary Jane) Connor of Eyota, Minnesota, Ken (Mary Ellen) Connor of Blair, Wisconsin, Diane (Bob) Gramlich of Lansing, Debra Jo Connor of Miami, Florida, Collette (Bob) Kasten of New Albin, Colleen (Richard) Uhlenhake of Ossian, Marty (Randy) Beneke of New Albin, Jeff (Sharon Colsch) Connor of Caledonia, Robert Connor of Ft. Madison, Patricia Bulman of LaCrosse and Shawn (Michelle) Connor of Calmar.

Denise was preceded in death by her daughter, Dannette Jostand; her parents; two brothers, Al Connor and Ricky Connor; four brothers-in-law and her grandparents.

Celebration of Life Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Parish in Lansing, Iowa with a visitation one hour before services at the church. Rev. John Moser will be the Celebrant.

Burial will be held at a later date at Gethsemane Cemetery, Lansing, Iowa.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Lansing, Iowa is helping the family with the arrangements.
