Marjory Davis

Marjory Ann Davis, 85, of Lynden, went home to her Lord Monday, Aug. 27, 2012. Memorial services were Saturday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 900 E. Grover St., in Lynden, Wash., with Pastor Joel Lohafer officiating. The family suggests memorials in Marjory’s name to: Hope Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 900 E. Grover St., or Meals on Wheels at Lynden Senior Center, 401 Grover St., both of Lynden, WA 98264 or to a charity of choice. She was born to Fred and Freda (Josvanger) Womeldorf March 25, 1927, in Decorah, where she grew up. She was married to Neal Davis Dec. 28, 1947. Neal and Marjory raised their children in Canby, Waseca, Owatonna and Rochester, Minn. A lifelong Lutheran, she was actively involved in church ladies’ groups and helped sponsor Hmong refugees in the United States following the war in Vietnam. In retirement, Neal and Marjory moved to Lynden in 2007 to be near family.

Marjory is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Dana) Petersen of Lynden and their children, Melissa (Jason), Steve (Becky), Lael (Josh), Chris, Sean, Becky and Scott; daughter, Jean Davis (Doug Arrington) of Georgetown, Texas and her daughter, Ashlyn; son, Frank (Sue) Davis of Albany, Ore. and children Stephanie and Neal; son, Paul (Gaye) Davis of Lynden and children Ren, Mariah and Sierra; great-grandchildren: Ben, Aaron, Katelyn, Heidi and Julia; sisters, Frances Jeffers of Spokane, Wash. and Kathryn Sanders of Hayden, Idaho.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Neil; infant grandson, Tyler Falk; sister, Dorothy Lund and brothers, Howard Womeldorf.
