Harold E. Jensen, 77, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, in Tucson, Ariz. A visitation at 10:30 a.m. and funeral Mass at 11 a.m. is Friday, July 13, at St. Andrew’s church in Verona. In lieu of flowers, donations of blood can be made to the American Red Cross, food to your local food bank, or to the Wounded Warriors Project, 489 Belfort Road suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
He was born in Decorah Feb. 13, 1935, to parents Eric and Phyllis Jensen. He is survived by his wife, Pat; son, Mark (Brenda); daughter, Lisa; grandchildren: Daniel, Alixandra, Colin, Carly and Justin; brothers, Kenneth (Elinor) and Darrel (Mary Pat); brother-in-law, Ronald Taddei (Sharon); and many special nieces and nephews.
Harry grew up in Decorah and attended Iowa State University, graduating in civil engineering and then served proudly as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. Upon discharge from the service he joined the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and then retired in 1994 as regional construction engineer for the division of highways. He was a kind, caring, generous and patient man who loved spending time with family and friends.
