Dwain Gaul
Dwain Gaul, 86, of rural Cresco, passed away at the Patty Elwood Center in Cresco Monday, Aug. 20, 2012. Friends called at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, where there was a 5:30 p.m. scripture service. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
Dwain was born Aug. 7, 1926, in Winneshiek County to William and Alice (Whalen) Gaul. Dwain was one of 12 children. He was a lifelong area farmer. He enjoyed his frequent drives enjoying the local crop scenery and wildlife, often stopping in and visiting family and friends. He enjoyed wrestling and had a great love of coon hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Luwane, of 62 years of Cresco; nine children: Rose (Roger) Enestvedt of Sacred Heart, Minn., Allen (Karen) Gaul of rural Cresco, Vivian (Doug) Richards of Lake Mills, Mike (Deb) Gaul of Nora Springs, Geri (Tom) Weaklen of Anamosa, Joan Gaul of Cresco, Duane (Michelle) Gaul of New Hampton, Annette (Mike) Duryee of Cresco and Joe Gaul of Cresco; 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 grandchildren, and 11 brothers and sisters.
