Cecelia A. Dawley, age 91, of Decorah, IA, died Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah. Burial will be in Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak.

Visitation will be from 4:30-8:00 P.M. Saturday, December 8 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and on Sunday after 11 A.M.

Cecelia Annetta was born February 25, 1921, to Sidney and Edna (Lewis) Baker at Le Roy, Minnesota. She attended rural schools and graduated from Decorah High School with the class of 1939. She was united in marriage on April 20, 1940, to Jesse Benjamin Dawley. They farmed near Bluffton and were blessed with eight children.

An avid reader from her youth, Cecelia shared her love of reading with her family down through the generations. She made the best pie crust and wonderful doughnuts. She also enjoyed sewing and making quilts for her family. Her quiet dignity, with which she went about her daily routine, demonstrated to people her beliefs in a God most high.

She passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, Iowa, at the tender age of 91-years-old.

Cecelia is survived by her five daughters: Cordelia Curtis (Keith), Donna Reinertson (David), Lona Curtis (Kenneth), all of Nampa, Idaho; Lois Wermager (David) of Melbourne, Iowa, and LaVonne Kocourek (Brian) of Lebanon, Ohio; and two sons: Nathan Dawley (Jacque) and Timothy Dawley of Decorah, Iowa. She is also survived and dearly loved by 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, twin sisters: Laura Boice of Decorah, IA and Lorraine Baker of Waterloo, IA; and 4 sisters-in-law: Vyra Masters of Canton, MN, Ellen Dawley of Bluffton, IA, Betty Dawley of Harmony, MN, and Darlene Baker of Mabel, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse (February 1990), son, Herbert (May 1963), three grandchildren: Rachel Curtis (January 2001), Daniel Reinertson (February 1979) and Matthew Reinertson (November 2003), and one great-grandchild Kaitlin West (August 1991). She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Harold, Paul, David, and one sister, Ruth Barth.
