Mrs. John Maroushek passed away Tuesday morning, May 21 at her home in Spillville, after being stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage several days previous. Mrs. Maroushek was found in an unconscious condition by her daughter, Mrs. Albert Bina of Calmar when she came to visit her on Sunday evening. Immediate medical attention was given her but she did not regain consciousness before the end came. Deceased was born in Calmar, Twp., in 1883, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Zak. In 1900 she was married to Frank Phillips. To this union a son, James, was born, also a daughter, who passed away in infancy. Mr. Phillips passed away in 1910. In 1912 she was united in marriage with John Maroushek, who survives with the following children: Mrs. Helen Bina, Calmar; Mrs. Wilma Gloeckner, Milwaukee; Richard of Cresco and Joseph of Spillville. Eleven grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Woldan, Spillville and Mrs. Anna Havel, also survive. Funeral services were held Thursday morning t 9:30 o’clock at St. Wenceslaus church with the Rev. Joseph Bandura officiating.
