Funeral services for George William Kuntz, who passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Reinhart of Alta Vista at 12:30 Monday morning, were held at the Ridgeway Methodist church at 2:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. The pastor, Rev. F. Cass officiated and interment was made in the Ridgeway cemetery. The pall bearers were Clarence Butz, Ross Kirschman, Geo. Kuntz, Arthur Vatthauer, Paul Vatthauer and Orvin Reinhart. Miss Margaret Reinhart sang two hymns at the service accompanied by Miss Edna Butz at the piano.

Geo. William Kuntz, son of Andrew and Barbara Kuntz was born in Ripley county, Indiana on April 18, 1863, where he grew to young manhood. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Kuster at Batesville, Ind., Feb. 10, 1887 and shortly after that they came to Iowa and to Lincoln twp., where they made their home on a farm near Ridgeway. They lived there until 1936 when they moved to Cresco. Mrs. Kuntz passed away in 1939 and the last few years he made his home with his daughter Mrs. Fred Reinhart at Alta Vista.

He is survived by three sons, Walter of Ridgeway, Elmer of Cresco and Irvin of Ridgeway; two daughters, Alma (Mrs. Fred Reinhart) of Alta Vista and Clara (Mrs. John Brockmeyer) of Lime Springs, 7 grandchildren, one sister Mrs. John Reinhart of Ridgeway, and three brothers, John of Frederick, Wis., Dr. Albert Kuntz of St. Louis, Mo., and Frank of Spokane, Wash. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Samuel, Charles and Wesley and one sister Emma.

Among those from a distance attending the service were Dr. Albert Kuntz of St. Louis, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Gustafson of Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Vatthauer and children and Kenneth Kuntz of Lanesboro; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gerhart, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Heslinger and children, Mr. Louis Reinhart of Alta Vista besides others from Alta Vista and Cresco.
