Henry Evenson

Funeral services for Henry Evenson, 73, who passed away at his home in Ridgeway Friday evening at 10:15 after a brief illness, will be held at the home at 2:30 o’clock and at 2:45 at the United Lutheran church in Ridgeway on Tuesday afternoon. Rev. M. B. Quill of Ridgeway will officiate and interment will be in the Ridgeway cemetery. Pallbearers will be O. A. Fosse, C. T. Trytten, Elmer Gilbertson, Steen Jonson, Albert Bakken and Casper Degro.

Henry Samuel Evenson, the son of the late Ole and Emma Evenson, was born in Freeborn county, Albert Lea, Minn.; on Sept. 7th, 1869. He was baptized in St. Evangelish Lutheran church at Geneva, Minn., and confirmed on the 22d of June 1884, also at Geneva by Rev. J. Danielson.

December 1899, he was united in marriage to Marie Qualley at Lake Mills, Ia., who preceded him in death on Aug. 31, 1909. To this union 5 children were born, Elmer of Ridgeway, Mrs. Will Denison (Ingabella) of Virgil, S. D., Mrs. Melvin Kasah (Hilda) of Hollywood, Calif., Arnold Evenson, Austin, Minn., and Gertrude Evenson, deceased.

In Sept. of 1913 he was united in marriage to Miss Millie Jenson who preceded him in death on Dec. 18, 1926. To this union one child was born, Mrs. Will Robison (Florence), of Albert Lea, Minn. Oct. 1, 1929, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Ellingson of Ridgeway and to this union three children were born, Erwin and Richard at home and Adrian, who passed away at the age of 5 weeks.

Besides his wife and children, Mr. Evenson is survived by five grandchildren, two brothers, and two sisters, Ed Evenson, Oliver Evenson, Mrs. Henry Hanson and Mrs. Jimmie Nelson of Albert Lea.

Mr. Evenson has made his home most of his life in Albert Lea, with the exception of the past 18 years when he resided here in Ridgeway. He had been in failing health the past two years, but death came as a shock to the family.
