Arlene M. Bohr, 84, of Cresco, Iowa passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012, at Evans Memorial Home, Cresco, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Dennis Cahill officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 404 North Elm St., Cresco, Iowa, a scripture service will be held at the end. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Arlene M. Timp was born on February 14, 1928, to Theodore and Ida (Holthaus) Timp in Calmar, IA. She attended rural country school until the 8thgrade. Arlene spent the better part of her early adult years in Chicago with her older sisters as a nanny. On May 11, 1954, Arlene married Wilfred Bohr at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, IA. Arlene took pleasure in her life on the farm and made a habit of keeping a daily diary which she started earlier that same year and maintained it for many, many years. She was a dedicated farm wife that helped keep an eye on the livestock, was in charge of the farm bookkeeping, enjoyed gardening, as well as supervising her grandsons mowing the lawn. Arlene cared deeply for her family, and relished hosting family dinners. She was a participating member of the Catholic women's church circles. Arlene is survived by her children, Debbie (Jim) Storlie of Byron, MN, and their children, Matthew and Jill Storlie, and step-children, Dan, Mark, and Nicole Storlie; Dennis (Becky) Bohr of Ridgeway, IA, and their children, Nicholas, Leyton, and Tristan; Craig (special friend, Shirley Weber) Bohr of Cresco, and his children, Sadie and Spencer. She is also survived by the following sisters and brothers-in law: Elsie Timp of Calmar, IA, Viola Bohr of Decorah, IA, Evelyn Bohr of Cresco, IA, Jerry Bohr of Cedar Rapids, IA, Duane and Connie Bohr of Sylvania, GA, Arlene Bohr of Darien, IL, and Jeanne and Eugene Hageman of Decorah, IA. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred in 2001, as well as her parents and brothers, Vendolin, Donald, and Duane Timp, and sisters, Dolores Kuboushek and Seraphia Tekippe; brothers-in-law, Paul Tekippe, Ray Kuboushek, Duane Lechtenberg, Linus Bohr; and sister-in-law, Rita Timp.
