Dies in Madison

Mrs. Alice Stander died in a Madison, Wis., hospital Saturday, July 29, after an illness since May when she suffered a nervous breakdown. On Thursday the week previous to her death she suffered a paralytic stroke after which pneumonia developed and was the direct cause of her death.

The body was brought to Decorah accompanied by her sister Marian Telford. Funeral services were held at the Bayhem funeral parlors and burial was in the Phelps cemetery at Decorah beside her husband Gordon Stander, who died in June, 1931.

She is survived by one son, Gordon Jr., who is in the CCC camp at Madison; three sisters: Mrs. Bernice Helaas of San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Lyle Eaton of Cresco and Marian Telford of Chicago; two brothers: William and John Telford of Decorah.

Cresco relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Eaton, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Frank, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Sovereign, E. A. Miller and son Raymond, Mrs. Geo. L. Champlin, Mrs. Harold Eaton and Charles Frank Sr.
