Charles Phillips

The funeral of Charles Phillips, 50, was held Wednesday morning at 9:30 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic church where a mass of requiem was offered by the Rev. Valentine Hlubek. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery beside his wife, the former Barbara Bouska, who died in 1932. Mr. Phillips died Sunday, April 21, at Decorah from injuries suffered a week previous after being hit by a train. Surviving are his three children, Angela, Marceline and Clarence; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Humpal, Conover and Christine Phillips, Spillville; four brothers, Ed, Joseph, Frank and Vincent.
