Mrs. Ole Magnus

Funeral services for Mrs. Ole Magnus, who passed away Tuesday morning at 6 o’clock, were held at the Bradley funeral home in Cresco at 1:30 o’clock and at the United Lutheran church of Ridgeway at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon. The pastor, Rev. H. M. Normann officiated and interment was made in the Sanderson cemetery. Pall bearers were Clair and Reuben Hovden, Harold Irvin, Alten and Garvin Rue, Leonard Magnus and Edwin Betts. At the services, Harold Normann of Cresco sang two hymns.

Thirty-eight gifts to many charitable funds were received in her memory. For her personal memorial her husband gave the contents of her private home fund, $48.00 to be divided equally between Home and Foreign Missions of our church.

Mrs. Magnus, nee Randine Hovden, daughter of George and Ragna Hovden was born in Lincoln township on April 20, 1869. In 1895 she was united in marriage with Ole Magnus, and they made their home in Lincoln township where they have lived since.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Elise, Mrs. Andrew Hegle of Flandreau, S. D., and Inga, Mrs. Lew Rue of Lincoln township, and four brothers: Steen Johnson of Ridgeway, Olavus Hovden and Gilbert Hovden of Lincoln township and Teddy Hovden of Thief River Falls, Minn. Three brothers, John Amund and Otto preceded her in death.

Much sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends who mourn her departure.

Besides those from Cresco and Decorah, those from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hegle of Flandreau, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Don Kratz, Mrs. Laura Aga of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Ringeon of Iowa Falls; Mrs. V. T. Jordahl of Cleveland, Ohio; Conrad Johnson, Mrs. Gleoria Yarwood of Harmony, and Mr. and Mrs. Gus Bakken of Ossian and Mrs. Carl Thomson of Preston.
