Funeral services for Lewis C. Magnus, who passed away Friday, following a lingering illness, were held at 2 o’clock at the home and at 2:30 at the United Lutheran church Monday afternoon. The pastor, Rev. H. M. Normann officiated and burial was in the United Lutheran cemetery near Ridgeway. The pall bearers were I. G. McQueen, Ed Hovden, Dr. L. J. Hospodarsky, Steen Johnson, Berger Guttormson and Theo. Hopperstad. Lewis C. Magnus was born May 4, 1869 in Brandvold, Soloer, Norwey, {sp} and departed this life Oct. 25, 1940, at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 21 days. He was the son of Carl Magnus and Mary Johnson Magnus and he came to this country when but two years of age. He grew to manhood on a farm 2 ˝ miles north of Ridgeway, where he was engaged in the business of farming for 25 years. He then moved to Ridgeway where he lived until his death. He was confirmed in the United Lutheran Church of Ridgeway under the pastorate of Rev. L. O. Pederson and acted in the capacity of trustee for 10 years. He lived a good christian life and used all his influence to bring others to the Kingdom of God. Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death and he leaves one brother, Carl Magnus of Ridgeway, and many nieces and nephews who will miss his timely advice and counsel.
