Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph Kruchek, 77, were held Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at the St. Wenceslaus church with the Revs. J. P. Broz and V. J. Hlubek officiating. As Marie Polansky, she was born Feb. 2, 1860 in Bohemia and came to America with her parents when a year old. She was married in 1883 to Mr. Kruchek and has always lived near Spillville, until they retired from farming about 16 years ago and have since been residents of Spillville. Those surviving are: Her husband and four children – Mrs. Mary Kubik, Mrs. Anna Shindelar, Mrs. Rose Leosch all of Spillville and Joseph of near Calmar. She also leaves 12 grandchildren.

Subscriber’s Note: I question the spelling of Leosch as it is spelled Loesch in Joseph Kruchek’s obituary; therefore I am showing both spellings in surnames.
