Funeral services for Theo. Engen, 58, who died at the LaCrosse hospital Thursday afternoon were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the house and at 2:00 o’clock at the Madison Lutheran church. The pastor, Rev. M. B. Quill officiated and burial was made in the cemetery adjoining the church. The pallbearers were Ole Bakken, Helmer Haga, Herman Engen, Spencer Engen, Sylvan Engen and Clarence Engen.

Mr. Engen, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Soren Engen was born on a farm near Ridgeway on December 25, 1880. He was married to Miss Clara Melaas, who survives him. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Morris and Truman, five brothers, Olavus, Ben, Allert and Hans of Madison township and Charles of Decorah and one sister, Mrs. Helen Ramstad of Madison township. Much sympathy is extended to the wife, sons, relatives and friends who mourn his departure.
