Christine Walton services held

A Mass of Christian Burial for Christine S. Walton of Cedar Rapids was held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 6 at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Rev. Karl Glovik officiating. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service in Cedar Rapids handled the arrangements.

Christine S. Walton, 92 died Friday morning, October 2, 1998 at Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness.

Christine was born January 4, 1906 in Fort Atkinson, the daughter of James and Anna (Voldan) Shada.

She married Frank Simon in 1928 and he died in 1941. They had lived in Cresco and Caledonia, MN, before moving to Cedar Rapids in 1935. Christine married Willard C. Walton November 2, 1944 in Cedar Rapids and he died May 16, 1986.

Christine was employed in the cafeteria at Wilson & Co. Meat Packing Plant for 26 years until her retirement in 1971. Christine was a member of Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church, P-3 Retirees and a social member of Lodge Karel IV #13 WFLA.

Survivors include a daughter: Marveleen Hess of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Christine was preceded in death by four sisters: Josephine Secora, Kate Secora, Edith Jarosh and Jessie Kacer.
