Mabel Stegen, 86, services to be held

Funeral services for Mabel Stegen, 86, of Decorah, will be held Thursday, April 9, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah with interment in the Pontoppidan Cemetery in rural Decorah. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 8, at the French & Balik Funeral Home in Decorah from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. at the church on Thursday.

Mabel died Monday, April 6, 1998 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital in Decorah after a long illness.

Survivors include three sons: Lyle of Decorah; Arland of Cedar Rapids; and Ron of Mabel, MN; three daughters: Dorothy Christen of Wadena; Lavonne Bussey of Sacramento, CA; and Arla Schmidt of Hazelton; one brother Vernon Evenson of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
